The Tourist Office of Serra attended 2,724 people last year. A number of services to which we must add another 600 that were made during the three days that lasted during the Fair of the Regions in The Bulls square in Valencia. In total about 3,500 people, a considerable number of visitors that represents an increase of 1,500 people compared to the year 2018. In addition, we must add the telephone information that is increasing.

The mayor of Serra, Alicia Tusón, makes a very good assessment of these figures. “We have opened a work path that is paying off,” she says and adds.”We must continue working hard so that tourism is one of the engines of our development.” The municipality of Serra, located in the heart of the Sierra Calderona Natural Park, is making an effort to turn tourism into the engine of the economy, both mountain tourism and that which is linked to heritage, gastronomy and culture. The town hall is immersed in the recovery of the Andalusian heritage of the 9th and 10th centuries and is about to open La Llar Tourism and Environmental Center, a new interpretation space on the present and future past uses of the mountains that also has an important geological collection.

The diversification of the offer with the creation of the Route of the Sculptures has doubled the visitors who are looking for information on the urban area with respect to 2018. This route that interprets the monumental, ethnological and cultural heritage through seven characters can be found in March at the end of 2018. Visitors have mainly sought information on nature tourism (930 people) compared to 728 who were looking for information on the town center, followed by gastronomy and fiestas.

Of the 2724 services carried out in the office, 81 percent correspond to tourism of national origin, of which almost two thousand are from the Valencian Community. The remaining 19 percent of attention has been people from other countries. France has been the country with the most visitors, followed by the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
From the Tourism area, family tourism is also being promoted with numerous theatrical routes that have had more than two hundred people.

On the other hand, the tourism website www.serratotnatura.com has received nearly 10,000 users in 11,000 sessions in 2019. More than half of the visitors have accessed from mobile devices seeking information on nature, heritage and gastronomy tourism.
