From October 17 to 25, the pumpkin will take center stage during a week that combines gastronomy, tradition, contests, and activities for all ages
Serra will once again be filled with flavors during the 5th “Pumpkin: Tradition and Innovation” Gastronomic Festival, to be held from October 17 to 25. This event celebrates the pumpkin as a staple of local cuisine and, once again this year, will bring together restaurants, local businesses, and activities to showcase the town’s cuisine and traditions.

During this event, local establishments will offer special culinary creations featuring pumpkin as the main ingredient. Bars, restaurants, a takeout spot, a bakery, and a butcher shop are participating in this initiative. The participating establishments are the bars and restaurants La Garrofera, Descanso, San Antonio, the Portacoeli brewery, Bar Jubilados, Nou Mosset, Nou Week-end, Restaurante Casa Granero, the takeout La Cartuja, the San Joaquín bakery, and Carns Aliaga.
The program will feature two highlights: the pumpkin stew contests. On Monday, October 19, the 6th Vicente Granero Vila de Serra Professional Pumpkin Stew Contest will be held, bringing together twelve restaurants to showcase one of the most iconic dishes of traditional cuisine. Meanwhile, on October 24, the 5th Popular Pumpkin Stew Contest will take place, inviting everyone to enjoy this recipe through participation and a love of cooking.

The events on the 24th will continue with a culinary afternoon that will make the pumpkin the star of the show. There will be tastings hosted by participating businesses, a pumpkin-decorating contest, a storytelling session for the little ones, and a musical performance—all part of an event designed to bring together gastronomy, culture, and fun for people of all ages.
The mayor of Serra, Alicia Tusón, emphasized that “these culinary events are a well-established tradition that highlights local produce and reinforces our cultural and culinary identity. At the same time, they represent an opportunity to boost local businesses and restaurants and to attract visitors who want to discover Serra through its cuisine.”

With this new edition, Serra continues to bet an initiative that combines the revival of traditional cuisine with culinary creativity. At the same time, it supports local businesses and invites residents and visitors alike to discover the flavors of the town.
