The lighting of the tree and lighting of the village was accompanied by the dances of the Aliguetes Dance Group and the sounds of the Tabal and Dulzaina Group. The event ended with a chocolote for the attendees.
Christmas Market. As the main novelty of this year, the square de la S.M. La Primitiva will be filled with handicrafts and activities for all kinds of audiences with the celebration of the I Christmas Market organized by the Association of Artisans of Serra. The market will be installed on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December.
On Friday the 13th afternoon, all children are invited to participate in the traditional Crafts Workshop that hosts the Library. And on Saturday 14, the Cultural centre will host at 6.30pm the performance of the play Alicia’s Birthday, aimed at family audiences.
During the week leading up to Christmas, the Christmas Contests jury will visit participants in the different categories: Bethlems and Births; Lighting and decoration of balconies and windows of the local commerce. The winners will receive different gift vouchers to spend in the shops and restaurants of the town.
Santa Claus will visit as every year, the Municipal Children’s School and the CEIP Sant Josep on December 20th. Santa Claus, will come and greet the users of the aula de respiro in the first year of opening this public service.
Music will also be present during these days. Thus, the Tabal and Dulzaina Group will offer its traditional carols through the streets of the town in the afternoon of the 18th. The bands will offer their traditional concerts: The S.M. la Primitiva the Christmas concert, on December 21 and the Musical Union, the New Year’s Eve, on December 28th.
The Royal Page will come to collect the children’s letters on the afternoon of December 27. At the same time, the traditional solidarity tombola will be held for the benefit of the V Solidarity Walk against Cancer.
The next day, Saturday 28 the San Silvestre Solidarity will fill the streets of Serra with corridors. A different race in that registrations will be with non-perishable products and will go to the local food bank.
On the other hand, as every year, the Youth Council has organized the excursion to Expojove for January 3. Buses will depart from the Municipality of Serra and the urbanization Torre de Portaceli, previous registration.
The iconic Winter Cinema will also host the screening of two films aimed at children’s audiences. The first of them, Sunday 22, in two sessions and at popular prices, Maleficent. Queen of Evil. Frozen 2 is scheduled for January 4.
With the arrival of the three wise men and subsequent delivery of toys and gifts for children, the planned activities of the most magical time of the year will be over. As always, the entire population is summoned to the crossing of the c/Valencia and Sagunto to wait for the Kings who will come full of illusions for all.
