Serra is getting ready to host a new edition of its food festival. From October 18 to 26, pumpkin will take center stage at the 4th Food Festival, “Pumpkin: Tradition and Innovation,” an initiative that combines cuisine, tradition, creativity, and family activities in the heart of the Sierra Calderona.

During these days, a total of seven bars and restaurants, a bakery, and a butcher shop in the municipality will offer special menus and dishes with pumpkin as the main ingredient. The participating establishments are: Bar Restaurant Nou Chaparral, La Garrofera, Descanso, Puerto Escondido, Cervecería Portacoeli, Bar Jubilados, Restaurante Casa Granero, horno San Joaquín, and Carns Aliaga.

The event also includes highlights such as the 5th Vicente Granero Vila de Serra Professional Olla amb Carabassa Competition, which will be held on October 20 with the participation of twelve restaurants. The program will open on October 18 with the 4th popular Olla amb Carabassa contest, and that same afternoon there will be a gastronomic afternoon with tastings by the participating companies, a pumpkin decorating contest, and storytelling for children.

The mayor of Serra, Alicia Tusón, emphasized that “these gastronomic days are a well-established event that highlights local products and reinforces our cultural and culinary identity. At the same time, they represent an opportunity to boost local commerce and restaurants and to attract visitors who want to discover Serra through its cuisine.”

With these events, the Serra Town Council reaffirms its commitment to gastronomic tradition and innovation, inviting residents and visitors to enjoy a unique experience with pumpkin as the common theme.
