Serra is already immersed in the celebration of the popular and traditional festival of Sant Roc that will fill the streets of this town of Camp de Túria with powder, light, color and music. This year is a year of celebration because we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the saint’s current image.

The main event of the festivities and the most anticipated will be held at dawn on August 16. It is the singular Baixà de Sant Roc that moves the images of the saints, from the hermitage to the house of the clavaris majors ( the people in charge of managing the Saint’s confrerie and the festivities dedicated to him). This popular event is declared as a Festival of Local Tourist Interest. At 00.00 hours the calvary and streets of the town will be filled with powder and light from the hundreds of rockets, that fire the more than 70 clavarios between children and adults. All to the beat of the music of the bands of the population, the S.M. La Primitiva and Unió Musical that will accompany the two saints to the rhythm of pasodobles and party music. The night will end with the performance of the Valencian rock group, Bajoqueta Rock.

The next day, after the transfer of the saints to the church, the traditional kilometric trail will take place that will end with a large terrestrial mascletà. At nightfall the rockets will be protagonists again during the procession. The traditional cordà will close the festivities to be held in the enclosure located in the square Dr. Emilio Marín in the early morning of August 17, “Dia del Gos”.
